The Process

We worked closely with the Jack Sprats owner to understand their loyal customer base, evolving menu, and the experience they wanted guests to feel when walking through their doors. From there, we defined a visual direction that balanced nostalgia with a fresh, modern perspective, guiding every creative decision.

The Problem

Jack Sprats Restaurant came to us in 2023 ready for a refresh. While loved by the community, the brand no longer reflected the warmth, quality, and evolving experience they offer. They needed a cohesive identity that honored their history while attracting new customers and bringing fresh energy to a long-standing local favorite.

Color Palette

The color palette was inspired by both the richness of the restaurant’s interior and vintage storybook illustrations tied to the Jack Sprats name. Deep greens create a sense of warmth, comfort, and familiarity, while brighter greens and teals bring freshness and energy. A bold orange adds vibrancy and appetite appeal, while soft neutrals keep the palette grounded and approachable. Together, the colors feel inviting, lively, and rooted in both tradition and renewal.

The Meaning Behind the Brand

The brand draws inspiration from the Jack Sprats nursery rhyme, blending whimsical, vintage storytelling with the real-life dining experience. Illustrated elements like tableware, food, and architectural details reflect the charm and personality of the space, while subtle retro influences give the brand a timeless feel.

Every element was designed to feel welcoming, familiar, and full of character  with a goal of capturing the essence of gathering around the table. The result is a brand that feels both nostalgic and refreshed, appealing to long-time customers while inviting in a new generation.

We worked with them to develop a new logo suite, patterns, illustrations, business cards and a new menu design!
