The goal of this project was to propose a new visual identity for the formerly known, UH Stranding Lab. Their organization responds to both live and dead whale and dolphin stranding in the Pacific, with a focus on dead stranding and cause of death investigations. The lab services the Main Hawaiian Islands, The Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, Guam, American Samoa and Saipan. Creation of a proposed identity design to be used on all printed materials, signage, identifying apparel, website and media related activities. The client wanted a professional and friendly identity for their community to easily recognize them and made it very clear that they wanted to stand out from their competitors. My approach was a more contemporary design, while maintaining the friendliness aspect that the client asked for. I felt that this approach was much different than any of their competitors and would ultimately stand out against them.
